Civic Projects

Tree Decorating 2022 at Cape Cod Hospital

Our Christmastime civic beautification project is the Tree decorating at Cape Cod Hospital.  Our members decorate Christmas trees for patients, staff and public to enjoy.

Hyannis Library

From the early years of the club to the present, there has been a close association between the Garden Club and the Hyannis Library. In 1935 Arthur Shurcliff, a well known landscape architect who designed the gardens at Williamsburg VA, presented plans for the beautification of the Hyannis Library grounds. This resulted in an enduring club project; members have planted, augmented, and maintained the Library gardens through many transitions to the current day.

The Club has also kept a tradition of decorating the interior and exterior of the  Library for the holidays. The patrons of the Library are so appreciative of this effort, and club members enjoy the challenge of creating a new “Winter Wonderland” each year.

Each week through the school year, members deliver a flower or live plant arrangement to the front desk of the Hyannis Public Library.  These beautiful floral arrangements enhance the peaceful setting of the library while adding a breath of the outside all year long.

Cobb Astro Park

Cobb Astro Park is another one of the club’s civic beautification projects.

Each spring members of the club help design and plant the annual garden along with high school students from Barnstable High School.
